Looking back on this draft that was never posted, I have to ask myself why I was tasting Hunter Valley Cabernet next to Burgundy?
The other shock is just how much I was spending on wine.
I remember these bottles, not clearly enough to provide notes, but it was a Saturday evening, like any other.
It is staggering that I would drink decade old 1er Cru with a decade old Cabernet. Purely a cost issue. If I could afford them I would drink Burgundy more often.
I honestly don’t think I could afford this kind of drinking back then…
