Sometimes not much happens. Sometimes I am just lazy. Sometimes I have a good book and get distracted.
“I notice how it takes a lazy man, a man that hates moving, to get set on moving once he does get started off, the same as he was set on staying still, like it aint the moving he hates so much as the starting and the stopping.” – William Faulkner

We get to the train station with plenty of time to spare. Grab some panini for lunch on the way. It is a six hour trip. We find our seats and settle in. Shell gets a call. Someone has left a laptop in our room. I can’t believe Shell forgot her laptop. I definitely packed mine. She checks her bag and it is there. Which means. I check mine and I don’t have it.

My brain is telling me I definitely packed it. I can actually visualise it. Somehow it is not in my bag. I check my watch. We have 30 minutes until the train departs. Can I make it to the room and back? I run.
I am a little out of shape but I make it to our accommodation at a trot. Check my watch. Plenty of time. Walk back. Shell is relieved. She was formulating contingency plans if I did not make it. Leave without me.
The train ride was smooth after that. Arrive home in Rome. Asleep without dinner.

Breakfast and coffee at the new local.
Early lunch. Drop off the laundry and walk to the physio.
It is good news. Things with Shell’s hand are progressing as expected. We will be back on the bikes in two weeks.
We walk home and have two minute noodles for dinner. I decided to read the same book as Shell so we can talk about it. We both agree it’s not a great book. Shell is a fan of Fantasy Science Fiction. I remember reading a trilogy by Robin Hobb years ago. We have started the Farseer trilogy.
I receive a message from the owners of the apartment. They have left a birthday present for Shell. What a lovely thing to do. I am wondering how they know it is her birthday tomorrow?
