My old friend Bruno.
Part 3.
I don’t recall where we tried our first Bruno Clair, what commune it was from, or who shared it with us. The bottle left a lasting impression. We have ended up drinking more Bruno Clair than any other Domaine.
Burgundy can be difficult to procure in Australia. There is not a wide variety to choose from. After our first bottle, I became a little obsessed with getting my hands on more. Scouring the auction houses for ‘a good bottle of Bruno’ became a bit of a hobby.
This was our wine for the Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru theme dinner at the Melbourne Burgundy Social Club, in May 2015. Not the first or the last Bruno Clair I presented. By the time we left for Malaysia, I think the group was a little over Bruno. Not me, he is still one of my favourite Domaines.
I have not been able to find tasting notes for this wine, I am positive it drank superbly. I have never had a bottle of Bruno I did not enjoy.
