I have grown used to a three day weekend so a four day weekend is a refreshing change of pace.
I am not joking, I struggle to imagine working a five day week. Strange thing is, I am still squeezing 40 hours of work into those four days. I guess this is why we call the blog ‘the grind’.

We sleep in past 06:30, which is impressive for us.
The gym was shut the last few days for the UAE holiday. It was good to be back lifting. The few days off has given my shoulder some time to recover and for the first time in a month I can bench the 50 bells.
My brother Bon has sent me a great research article on training the heart. Forcing the heart into 120-140bpm, the experts call this Zone 2, for 30 plus minutes. This type of training strengthens the heart muscle. I don’t enjoy cardiovascular training, but the idea of ‘training the heart’ like any other muscle appeals to me.
We head to the House of Wisdom. A family of four arrives but they need two tables. One for the adults and one for the two children who have a nanny each. The nanny’s produce iPads for the children and they tune into some cartoons with the volume up. This is a snapshot of where we are at in society. Two adults, two children, two nanny’s, and the best four adults can come up with to entertain two children is two iPads…. in a fucking library, full of fucking books.

We move outside.
I am trying to get through 1984 before we leave for Europe so I don’t have to take it with me.
