At this gathering of the Melbourne Burgundy Social Club we compared Premier Crus from the 2009 vintage in the communes Gevrey-Chambertin, Chmbolle-Musigny and Nuits-Saint-Georges.
No formal notes were taken.
Venue – Shark Fin Inn (as always).
All wines were tasted blind in ‘options’ format.

Off to a wine bar to try some wine from Sicily.
2013 Girolamo Russo ‘a Rina Etna Rosso
It became clear by the end of the tasting that the wines could be identified by commune.
Less so fruit profiles but more structure and style.
Gevrey-Chambertin consistently displayed restrained powerful structure.
Chambolle-Musigny was refined elegance.
Nuits-Saint-Georges was controlled rusticity.

Wow!! Great to see this awesome wine tasting event here. I too attended a wine tasting party at one of LA venues. It was really an amazing event where I tasted number of flavored wines. Honestly enjoyed the day.
