Friday
An excellent night’s sleep.
Although I do feel a little spongy in the brain region.
Alcohol would be my guess.
Breakfast at home.
And there is nothing to do.
Perfect.
Back to STEYR Almgasthof Plauen for lunch. Shell decides on the venison again, I go for the schweineschulter, shoulder of pork.
Beers to wash lunch down.
“That’s what I consider true generosity: You give your all, and yet you always feel as if it costs you nothing.”
Simone de Beauvoir
We grab some things from the grocery store, more wine, and a quick stop at the ‘coffee shop’ and we are ready for home.
Shell has a nap. I read.
We drink some wine in the garden. Then more wine.
Tonights wines –
2020 Von Oetinger Riesling (Rhine, Germany)
Excellent Riesling. Tight mouthfeel, lemons on the nose. Germany produces world class white wine.
2021 Boccantino Montepulciano d’Abruzzo (D’Abruzzo, Italy)
Clunky oak. You could drink worse wines on
Dinner.
Bed.
We leave tomorrow.
