I didn’t want to get out of bed.
I could sleep for another five hours, but Shell wants to go for a run, and the day heats up quickly.
She is right, the run makes us both feel better.
Another 5 km on the banks of the Danube.
Home for a shower, and we walk to breakfast—one last trip to Zërgë Coffeeshop.


We take our time, Shell working on her Korean while I read.
After quite a few coffees and our usual bagels, we stroll home.
Crossing the Széchenyi Bridge, it occurs to me that it might be the last time we are in Budapest for some time. While we have lived in Dubai, Budapest was our home every holiday. There are no direct flights to Budapest from Seoul. There will be new countries to explore in East Asia.
It is a familiar skyline. I will see it again, sooner or later.

We read for a while. Shell is not hungry, so I grab some lunch on my own.

The night is savaged by excellent company and a chance encounter with an exceptional wine bar on the walk home. Kadarka, my new place to drink in Budapest.
